OUR EUROPEAN ANCESTORS DID NOT "CHOOSE" CHRISTIANITY
by Robert
Christianity was not 'selected' by men better than ourselves. My ancestors, the Anglo-Saxons, adopted Christianity gradually over a long period of time due to clever trickery and manipulation on the part of the missionaries that travelled to the isles.
Anglo-Saxons did not conceptualise Jesus as the Jewish Messiah. They visualised Jesus through a pagan lens; as a powerful germanic warrior.
Modern Western understanding of Christianity is filtered quite heavily through the ancestral hybridisation of pagan ideals and Jewish eschatology. The Christianity of today neither resembles the orthodox practice of the first Jewish-Christians, nor the paganised Christianity of our European forebears.
Note to Reader: For your consideration. What if, for argument's sake, this is merely the story of Akhenaten?
