Prior to Euclid of Alexandria, not one culture in Earth’s entire history is known to produce music that changes key.
Pythagoras took Euclid’s work and refined the circle of fifths and derived that the system is actually a semitone off after several octaves. Pianos are tuned to compensate for the oddity.
Prior to this, and for over a thousand afterwards, changing key remained unheard of and/or a purely European phenomenon, “music” that never changes key is excruciatingly annoying and monotonous; I’ll let you apply the analogy.
